Dog-friendly hotel in Zandvoort: beach, dunes and a warm room

Zandvoort is one of the loveliest places on the coast to visit with your dog: a wide beach, dunes where dogs can run off the lead and beach pavilions where your dog is welcome on a lead. Ocean House Zandvoort is on the quiet south side of the village, less than a 10-minute walk from the sea. In this guide you can read what your dog can expect with us and which rules apply in Zandvoort.
Your dog at Ocean House
Your dog simply sleeps in your room with you. We allow a maximum of one dog per room. You add your dog to your booking for €25 per night, or you choose the dog package, which includes your dog. Let us know when you book: on arrival there will be a basket, bowls and a towel for sandy paws waiting for you.
The hotel is in the quiet Parkbuurt neighbourhood. You and your dog can walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes, and the dunes on the south side of Zandvoort are even closer.
When can your dog go on the beach?
The municipality of Zandvoort uses two periods:
- 1 October to 15 April: dogs are welcome on the beach all day and all night.
- 15 April to 1 October: dogs are allowed on the beach from 19:00 to 09:00. Not during the day.
Whenever dogs are allowed on the beach, the whole beach is an off-lead area: your dog doesn't need to be on a lead, as long as it responds reliably to recall. In the beach pavilions that are open all year round, your dog is welcome on a lead. You are required to clean up after your dog.

Off-lead areas in the dunes
Away from the beach, your dog must be on a lead in Zandvoort, except in the off-lead areas. There are several of these in the dunes, known as the dog dunes. Visit Zandvoort names the Zwanenmeer in the Zuidduinen as one of the most beautiful places to walk with your dog. The Noordduinen and Wurmenveld nature area is an off-lead area all year round.
